Creation Care & Life Coaching
The LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.
And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. Genesis 29-30
While we are at a place far from Eden, I believe the original intent and hope for us remains alive and well in the heart of God, Christ, Earth and us. I believe we have the ability, as we follow Jesus and his leading, to set our hearts on that intent and way of life and to better care for our family, homes, communities and Earth. I believe we have the ability to right our relationships with everyone and everything and then we can put our focus on caring for each other and God’s good creation; not on money. We can live a more sustainable and joyful life. Along with connection and communion within Christ, I believe good Earth stewardship is not only our God given work; it is our true heart’s joy made manifest in this world. With more awareness, intent, education, action and community, we can improve our stewarding in our every day choices and relationships no matter where we are in our walk with Jesus.
With Creation Care Coaching, you will receive support and coaching to determine your immediate and long term goals, develop a plan and identify action steps. You will also receive loving and gentle accountability to keep you on track as you work toward your goals. We will celebrate each success and you will be encouraged to continue even when things get tough.
Many of the Common Creation Care goals listed below may by applied to your personal life as well as your vocation and either may be a focus of coaching. My goal is to support you as you increase awareness, make changes, make more informed choices and move forward in your life. My own path and experience with this type of change comes from a middle-class, urban lifestyle; however, the coaching model and stewardship is universal and makes you and Jesus the expert on what is best for your life and your path.

- Life Balance
Evaluate your vocation and seek and find a more authentic vocation if needed.
Learn a “basic needs” trade/vocation for increased self-sufficiency and for sharing/giving.
Clean out, donate, re-purpose and remove the clutter and excess possessions.
Create a Local Sharing Community or Basic Needs Giving Program in your faith group, neighborhood or community.
Local Sharing Community:
A Local Sharing Community shares their goods and services. This works especially well with big ticket items.
For example: Someone in the sharing group may own a lawnmower. Someone else may not but is in need of one so the owner of the lawnmower shares so that person doesn’t have to go buy one. It’s that simple. You can manage this via a simple email distribution list or you could use a private social networking site.
Basic Needs Giving Program:
This is different from the Local Sharing Community in that this group is focused on goods and services that are designated as “Basic Needs”. It gets your group focused on self-sufficiency and basic needs trades & vocations that your group members may be interested in learning. Members may consider learning a new trade or skill to contribute to this group.
Basic Needs can be defined by your group and may consist of food, shelter, clothing, basic goods and services that people need versus things people just want or would like to have.
Both of these programs focus on unconditional sharing in that there is no money involved and no requirement for direct trade for items shared and given.
“People do, people share, people receive, needs are met…period.”
Switch to alternative energy sources and products and/or reducing your energy needs.
Evaluate your finances and create a plan to pay off all debt and live responsibly within your good means.

Spend more time helping your faith group and your local community based organizations.
What Coaching Is and Is Not
Coaching is defined by the International Coach Federation as, “Partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their potential”. Coaching does not focus on past-based issues or traumas. Coaches are not psychologists and if a need for that type of care is identified during the coaching relationship, we will discuss whether you want to make seeking that type of assistance one of your goals.
Components of Creation Care Coaching
The initial consultation will allow you to learn more about coaching and ask questions. We will have an opportunity to learn more about each other to determine if coaching is right for you and if so; if we are a good fit to work together. We will also discuss whether you are interested in individual coaching or group/family coaching or both. There are no fees associated with the Initial Consultation.
You will receive a coaching agreement that will outline the details of the coaching relationship and will include a list of both of our responsibilities to that relationship.
There is an initial assessment to take before your initial consultation is held. You can click on the link below to complete the assessment. The assessment will help you clarify where you are related to different aspects of your life, relationships and creation care. This will help you as we develop your plan and actions steps. Customized assessments may also be provided to you as needed.
The coaching competencies and ethics set forth by the International Coach Federation will be followed during our work together. Coaching sessions will generally last an hour and may occur weekly or bi-weekly depending on your plan.
During a typical coaching session, we will review your progress, celebrate your success, work with you on any needed adjustments to your overall goals and help you clarify your next actions. You will usually leave the coaching session with 2-3 agreed action steps which will be your focus of action until the next session. We will open and close each session with a brief prayer asking Jesus to guide us and help us follow his good leading for your life.
As your coach, I will always be available to you by text and email in between our sessions if you find yourself in need of assistance. Coaching sessions may be conducted in person, over the phone or on the web. The coaching relationship may last for any length of time depending on your needs.
Coaching services may be offered to you with reduced fees when needed. Coaching may also be offered in trade as well as in a “pay it forward” model. Fees will be determined at the initial consultation based on your individual circumstances.
Weekly Coaching = $175.00 a month
Bi-Weekly Coaching = $95.00 a month
